SGK Associates, Inc. is a city planning consulting firm specializing in the planning and implementation of walkable and bicycling communities. We coordinate and perform neighborhood and community visioning to develop master plans for communities or for specific areas. This visioning is done through the Charrette method, which is a multi-day collaborative design and planning workshop and includes round table brainstorming sessions involving all affected stakeholders in the community. This process addresses the needs of the community and builds consensus for the plan’s adoption and implementation.

We also research and pursue available and new creative funding sources to implement plans and goals, and we coordinate and pursue the political processes to achieve the plan’s success. We look at getting the most use and value out of public investments such as in R-O-W’s and public spaces.  We do this by providing for a variety of users and increasing the quality of the community through beautification, safety, placemaking, and a variety of pleasant travel modes like walking, bicycling, car travel, and transit when available.
